To achieve USA Swimming Certification, the Olympic-sized swimming pool at the University of South Dakota Wellness Center required precise, independently verified measurements of lane lengths and water depths. Banner provided accurate surveying to ensure the pool met strict certification standards.

Project Details

Banner's survey team applied high-precision measurement techniques to capture accurate lane and depth data in the swimming pool, an environment not typically surveyed. The team measured 32 lanes, including 24 lanes at 25 yards and 8 lanes at 50 meters. Because traditional survey methods are not commonly used in aquatic environments, the survey team developed a custom setup to accurately utilize a laser distance measuring device over the water surface. Attention to detail and creative problem-solving were necessary to ensure measurements met requirements.
