Project Details

The City of Trosky faced long-standing wastewater challenges as one of the last unsewered communities in Minnesota. Existing septic systems posed risks to groundwater, surface water, and public health, and no longer met county and state regulatory requirements. After more than a decade of evaluation and planning, the community needed a long-term, centralized solution to address environmental concerns and ensure regulatory compliance.

The new sanitary sewer system replaces individual septic systems with a centralized collection and treatment approach, significantly reducing environmental risks and improving public health protections. This investment provides Trosky residents with reliable wastewater service while helping the city meet state and county requirements. The project represents a sustainable, long-term solution that supports the community’s future while protecting nearby water resources.

This project involved the design and construction of a new municipal sanitary sewer system for the City of Trosky, Minnesota. Improvements included a gravity sewer collection system serving properties throughout the community, a lift station and force main, and new wastewater treatment ponds located east of the city. Banner Associates worked alongside the City of Trosky for more than a decade, providing planning, design, and the following services:

  • City Engineering
  • Wastewater Collection Systems
  • Sanitary Sewer Forcemain
  • Small Lift Stations
  • Facility Planning/Engineering Reports
