Project Details
Starting with the original document, Banner worked extensively with SDDOT staff across various departments to gather information on the many winter highway maintenance activities. The Banner team also researched adjacent state documents to identify information that may apply to South Dakota. The Banner team then edited and organized subject matter from the expert and technical panel meetings into an easy-to-read, cohesive, and one-tone document.
In addition to text, the manual's graphic layout incorporated the recently updated SDDOT branding, including a new logo and color palette. The Banner team created graphics, maps, photos, and infographics to visually demonstrate the many aspects of the information into a clear concept. The layout was designed for straightforward navigation and quick access to specific information. This was done through color, icons, and consistency.
The final product is a comprehensive manual that explains the intricacies of winter highway travel, safety, and maintenance that can be used by both SDDOT staff and travelers alike.
