Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) | NorthWestern Energy - Brandt to Bigstone 6-inch Natural Gas Line

Sediment and other materials disturbed during construction can be carried into natural bodies of water, and they can have harmful effects. To best protect local waters from pollution, Banner assisted Northwestern Energy during this Natural Gas Line installation project with a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). We performed surveys, held regular inspections, and filed paperwork with authorities to minimize the impact of construction and protect our water.

Project Details

The SWPPP was developed by Banner and approved by NorthWestern Energy. SDDANR, the regulatory agency, granted the project coverage under the "General Permit Authorizing Stormwater Discharges Associated with Construction Activities". A pre-project survey of the pipeline route was conducted, and Banner submitted the Notice of Intent to SDDANR on behalf of NorthWestern Energy. Banner conducted weekly site inspections, completed the weekly inspection form, modified the SWPPP as needed to reflect changes in the project, and submitted the Notice of Termination on behalf of NorthWestern Energy at the project close.
