Lewis & Clark Regional Water System - Site B Collector Well

Always making improvements, the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System needed to increase their raw water capacity for their planned treatment plan expansion. Considering the quantity of raw water required and the existing aquafer, a collector well was the best fit for their needs. Our structural and architectural teams designed the buttresses through the design of the building to bolster the collector well and prevent it from moving relative to the building.

Project Details

The collector well is a vertical caisson with horizontal screens at the bottom pushed out into the aquifer. On top of the caisson, there is the pump station with vertical turbine pumps. The building is supported by buttresses attached to the caisson, so the building will not move relative to the caisson. Banner performed the design of the buttresses up through the design of the building.
