In December 2013, the South Dakota Board of Regents approved the construction of the SDSU Dana J. Dykhouse football stadium after determining that the Coughlin-Alumni Stadium could no longer meet the needs of the University. The new stadium seats 19,340 and is constructed on the site of Coughlin-Alumni Stadium. Banner completed a topographic survey of the existing Coughlin-Alumni Stadium to provide engineers an accurate model of existing conditions, which are important to design the civil/site portion of the project. For a portion of construction, a surveyor was on-site full time to provide real-time elevation monitoring of the auger cast pile installation.
